| The Oak Hill Community Nursery owned, directed and managed by members of the community, is a purpose built and self – contained facility within the Hatcham Oak Children’s Centre at 29 Wallbutton Road, Brockley, SE4 2NX.
The nursery provides full and part time fee paying places for children from 6 months to 5 years and is open form 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
Places in the nursery are available to parent’s who, primarily, live in the Hatcham Oak Children’s Centre area.
In the nursery the aim is to provide quality care and education for all children who attend, by the delivery of an active play based learning programme in a caring, safe, welcoming, relaxed stimulating and orderly environment. The environment reflects the diversity of social and cultural backgrounds of the community and all children, parents/carer and families are valued and respected.
The nursery’s aim is to develop a working partnership with all parents and carers to support their understanding of their child’s developmental and learning needs, both at the nursery and at home to help maximise their Childs learning potential and raise achievement, ready for the move onto the next provision. The aim is also to develop and maintain strong co- operative links with the community, other agencies and professionals in support of the families who use the nursery. All staff has the opportunity to access continuing professional training and development both in house and externally to promote and maintain excellent quality childcare and best practice in the delivery of the early curriculums and childcare practices.
Admissions Criteria
1. Availability of places, determined by
• The number of children we are registered for
• The child’s age
• The child staff ratio in the nursery
2. Priority will be given to those on the waiting list who live in the Hatcham Oak Children’s Centre area.
3. The current position on our waiting list. Priority will be given to children that have been on the list for a longer period of time.
4. Full time places will usually take preference over part time
5. We will try to give priority to siblings of children already in our care.
